The Good Part About Midweek Halloweens...

Wednesday Halloweens sounds like a bore right? School that same day, work the next day...Whenever is there time for the spooky debauchery? To be perfectly honest, it's still a fun time because midweek Halloweens mean the holiday starts early--as in the Friday night before! So we went to a costume party in Soho and danced a lot.

Happy Halloweening.

With Hammer and Nails

We finally put up the hookrail with the wrought-iron hooks. Our friend Travis lent us his hammer and Nia picked up some rustic, flathead nails from a hardware store on Gold Street. Rad!

Weekending in Vermont

We fled the city for what Vermonters call "peak weekend" for the leaves! We drove through tunnels of gold and saw mountainsides dappled in all shades of saffron, yellow, burnt sienna...We tasted freshly cooked apple cider donuts at an apple cider mill and roasted marshmallows in a little adobe chimnia in Kelsey's backyard. We got caught up in the middle of a little Civil War reenactment and took swigs of Vermont maple syrup in the back of a van. We laughed until the wee hours of the night around a kitchen island with hot mugs of coffee and homebaked pumpkin torte. We four napped in Kelsey's cutie pie room and read books in silence and enjoyed each other's company. We watched White Christmas (Nia fell asleep like a loser). Happy Autumn-ing!

Brooklyn Girl Problems

Just stumbled upon BK Girl Problems on Twitter and died of laughter. Some favorite statuses include:

I think I believed in myself a little too much last night.

That special moment when a stranger approaches you on the street and tells you you look like a dead flower.

I love living in a place where "secretly" drinking from a bottle of jameson means just going half a block away from the bar.

Being the girl holding the weird object on the subway.

Call me old-fashioned, but I miss the days when a lady would wear a camisole under her sheer blouse.

And now here we are being young and in love with life and all that stuff in Brooklyn (except for the picture of Kelsey with her donburi bowl...that was somewhere off University Place). We went around with Shannon + Michael + Drew...ended up at Union Pool for some hipster dancing. Alex + Shan also discovered a brew called Instant Pentecostal Apostle. Amazing. The only BK girl problem we encountered? Wanting to dance with just us and weirdo "randos" intruding.

Our next venture? Tonight we leave for Vermont!
